Dr Robert Clarke

MBChB FRACGP RG BEng(mech)

Dr Robert Clarke completed his primary medical training at the University of Pretoria in South Africa, where he went on to work across both hospital and private general practice settings. He brings broad clinical experience, including a decade in emergency departments as well as running his own general practice.

After relocating to Australia in 2013, Dr Clarke initially continued his work in emergency medicine before undertaking further training in general practice. He subsequently achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).

Alongside his main practice, Dr Clarke contributes to rural healthcare by undertaking locum work for 5–10 days each month in regional hospitals and GP clinics, supporting communities with limited access to medical services. His clinical scope covers all areas of general practice, caring for patients across every stage of life.

Dr Clarke is guided by a “long and slow medicine” philosophy, placing emphasis on thoughtful, thorough care, clear communication, and shared decision-making with his patients. He also has a strong interest in integrative care, including the use of natural therapies where appropriate.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys a hands-on, self-sufficient lifestyle, with interests that include small-scale farming, beekeeping, raising chickens, fish farming, and growing his own vegetables.
